We stock and install Elite-compatible welding and fabrication components across Orlando, with most hinge, bracket, and frame repairs running $280 – $650 installed, and full gate rebuilds landing between $900 – $2,400 depending on size and steel gauge. The typical discovery moment is a gate that sags, scrapes the driveway, or stops latching, followed by a closer look that reveals a cracked weld at the hinge mount or a rusted-through bottom rail. If your Elite gate has reached that point, we can usually have a tech out within 24 hours with the right steel and the right welder on the truck.
Which Elite Models This Applies To
Elite gates in Florida are almost always ornamental iron or aluminum, and the welding issues we see cluster around specific weak points on their swing and slide models: the hinge weld plates, the bottom rail corners, and the bracket where the gate operator arm connects to the gate leaf. If you have an Elite swing gate, check the hinge side first. If you have an Elite slide gate, the cantilever rollers and the frame welds near the drive chain take the most abuse.
Identifying your specific Elite gate comes down to a few markers. Look for the manufacturer plate on the gate frame or the operator housing, which lists the model number. If that plate is gone or painted over, measure the gate leaf height and the gap between the pickets, because those dimensions tell us the steel gauge and pipe size we need to match. When it comes to OEM versus aftermarket for Elite specifically, the honest answer is that the steel itself rarely matters as much as who welds it. We use American-made steel tube and plate matched to your existing profile, and the workmanship is what carries the lifespan. For brackets and hinge components, we prefer genuine Elite hardware when it is available, because the hole spacing and pivot geometry on their swing arms are not universal.

Signs Your Elite Welding & Fabrication Is Failing
- The gate sags toward the latch side. This usually means the top hinge weld has begun to crack or the frame rail has fatigued. You will see a visible gap change at the top corner when the gate is fully closed.
- The gate scrapes or gouges the driveway when opening. A worn bottom hinge or a cracked lower frame weld lets the leaf drop, and the scrape pattern on your concrete tells you exactly where the failure is.
- Rust blooms at a weld joint. In Orlando humidity, water sits inside the tube steel and rusts from the inside out. A brown streak below a weld is the first sign that the joint is losing structural integrity.
- The operator arm bracket wobbles or the gate jerks during travel. When the bracket welds that hold the operator arm to the gate start to fail, the whole gate moves unpredictably, and that wobble accelerates the failure.
- The gate develops a twist or racking you can see from the street. Once a frame rail separates from a corner weld, the gate structure starts to fight itself. The twist only gets worse, and the longer it runs, the more cutting and re-welding it takes to square everything back up.
Replacement Cost & What’s Included
In Orlando, most Elite welding repairs fall between $280 and $650 installed. A single broken hinge weld is at the low end. Replacing a rusted bottom rail and re-hanging the gate runs toward the middle. A full frame rebuild with new steel, new hinges, and weld-through primer runs $900 – $2,400 on larger estate gates.
What drives the range is the amount of steel that needs replacing, whether the gate has to come off its hinges and go back on, and whether we are welding aluminum or steel. Steel is welded with MIG or stick. Aluminum needs a spool gun and more prep. Either way, our written quote includes the steel, the consumables, the labor, and haul-away of the old section if needed. We back all Elite welding work with our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the repair fails within a year, the return visit is free. You will know the price before we touch anything.

You can safely check a few things yourself. Look for visible cracks at the hinge plates and the operator arm bracket. Run your hand along the bottom rail and feel for soft spots, which are typically rust-through from the inside. Snap a few photos so you can show us what you are seeing when you call.
What we do not recommend is breaking out a welder on a gate that has already twisted or dropped. A gate under tension carries stored energy, and a bad weld can fail suddenly while someone is working under or beside it. Beyond the safety issue, a gate that is not squared before it is welded stays crooked, and the operator has to fight that misalignment every single cycle. If your Elite gate needs steel work, call us at (321) 465-7089 and we will send a tech with the right equipment and the right measurements.
FAQs
A properly welded and primed steel joint on an Elite gate in Orlando typically lasts 8 – 15 years before the first meaningful rust or fatigue shows. Unpainted welds, welds on aluminum without proper prep, and joints that hold standing water fail much sooner.
Yes, in most cases we can cut back the damaged steel, sleeve or gusset the joint, and weld in new material rather than replacing the entire gate leaf. We only recommend a full rebuild when the rust has compromised more than about a third of the lower frame.
Most hinge and bracket repairs are done in 2 – 4 hours on site. A bottom rail replacement or frame rebuild usually takes a full day, plus time for primer and paint to cure before the gate goes back into service.
We carry common Elite hinge plate patterns, steel tube in the gauges used on their residential gates, weld-through primer, and operator arm brackets. If your gate needs a proprietary Elite component we do not stock, we source it directly and schedule the install as soon as it lands.
We do. Warden Gate Repair Orlando services LiftMaster, Mighty Mule, Ghost Controls, and the rest of the major gate and opener brands, so if your Elite gate also has an opener from a different manufacturer, we can handle both in the same visit.
